Troop 80 is a self-sustaining organization that supports our scouting adventures and community service efforts through profits from this fundraiser. It also helps us build fiscal awareness and introduce our scouts to life skills around communication, salesmanship, and taking initiative.

​We have sold hand-crafted greenery fresh cut in Minnesota and Oregon since 2009. Our customers rave about the product quality – often giving it as gifts. Last year we added locally harvested oak and hickory firewood.

This year we’re saving money to visit the NASA Space Center in Houston, kayak the Trinity River, backpack in Tyler State Park, and earn the Engineering merit badge with Harley Davidson! New this year we are also proud to support Wreaths Across America by volunteering at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery during the event and by accepting wreath sponsorships through our greenery sale (see more info below).

Wreaths

Handcrafted from fresh cut Noble and Balsam Fir boughs and decorated with Ponderosa pine cones and big, beautiful fabric bows, our evergreen wreaths come in four styles. They measure 25 inches in diameter and feature a variety of decor elements specific to each style: jingle bells, shatterproof satin ornaments, gold juniper twigs, and faux berry stems, Wreaths make wonderful corporate gifts and can be shipped outside Dallas. 🇺🇸 Wreaths Across America 🇺🇸

Remember the fallen. Honor those who serve. Teach the next generation the value of freedom. Since 1992, Wreaths Across America has placed holiday wreaths on the graves of America's heroes on National Wreaths Across America Day on the second Saturday in December. In 2022, Wreaths Across America placed over 2.7 million wreaths in 3,702 locations across all 50 states, U.S. territories, and overseas sites. Troop 80 will accept wreath sponsorships and participate in the wreath laying ceremony at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery this year on December 13. We appreciate your support of this service project! *Wreath sponsorships are tax deductible.*

The Million Tree Planting Program

Each holiday season our greenery vendor, Mickman Brothers, uses hundreds of tons of sustainably harvested fresh evergreen boughs to hand-craft wreaths, door sprays, garlands, and centerpieces. In 2007, they kicked off a Million Tree Planting Program to enrich our forests with even more trees. To date, they have funded the planting of more than 800,000 evergreen seedlings in state and federal forests across 49 states. They are also proud founding members of the Minnesota Balsam Bough Partnership, which developed methods for sustainably harvesting balsam boughs and enforcing their practice through licensing. For over 35 years, this program has helped build a thriving industry while protecting Minnesota's forests for years to come.
