OUR
MISSION
To provide the Scouting program in a safe, edifying environment; to ensure fun,
adventure, and learning; and to encourage personal development of character and
integrity in our Scouts.
TROOP PROFILE
Troop 80 is a medium-sized, youth-run
Scout Troop offering a solid program of basic scout skills, outdoor activities,
community service, and friendship building. The troop draws most of its
members demographically from the Park
Cities and North Dallas areas in the state of
Texas. Our sponsor
is Highland Park Presbyterian Church. Scouts attend a variety of schools
and churches in the area. The goal of Troop 80 is to make the learning of
scout skills fun and use these as stepping-stones in the development of
responsibility, character and leadership skills. Click here

Anyone interested in

inventory of our uniform closet and she has some uniforms to be
recycled. Also, if your Scout has outgrown his gently used uniforms,
please consider donating them to the troop Uniform Closet for use by
those who might need a uniform.
-
National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT)-
This course is an intense, 5½ day,
outdoor leadership training experience for troop youth leaders. Its
principle function is to help Scoutmasters by training their top boy
leaders in the skills of leadership. This course is a National BSA-developed
course that closely parallels the material provided in the 21st Century
Wood Badge training for adults. This course is offered by the Circle Ten
Council.
Reminder that all
Scouts need to have a current Class A, B and C health form on file with
the troop in order to participate in troop activities. Don't forget to
include a copy of your health insurance card. The forms need to be sent
to
Chuck Bufkin.
-
Leadership
Application-
Every Scout who is
in need of a Troop Level Leadership position needs to complete
this form and turn it in to the
SPL.
Remember that all the Scouts were removed from their leadership
positions on May 31st and need to complete a new Leadership
Application in order to have a leadership position this year.
