Patrol Quartermaster Responsibilities
Each Patrol Quartermaster is
responsible for the preparation and condition of the equipment for the patrol
used on each campout. He is expected to
communicate with the Troop Quartermaster, Patrol Leader, and Patrol Grubmaster
when updating and improving the gear used by the patrol. Preparation is important to the patrol’s
ability to have a safe and fun campout.
He is expected to follow the guidelines listed below:
1.
Prior to the
campout, the Patrol Quartermaster will review the check list with the patrol to
make sure all items required for the campout are in proper working order and
meets the patrols objective for the campout.
2.
After the menu
for the next campout is prepared the Patrol Grubmaster will give the dry box to
the scout in charge of purchasing the menu for stock. Items should be evaluated for the menu
selected and the quantity brought to the campout is proportional for the menu.
3.
The scout in
charge of the menu will bring the dry box to the next campout and load it on
the trailer.
4.
At the conclusion
of each campout the Patrol Quartermaster will fill out the check sheet for
replacement needs for the next campout.
5.
The dry box will
be given to the Patrol Grubmaster for cleaning and inspection.
6.
The check sheet
will be given to the Troop Quartermaster at the next troop meeting.
7.
They will review
the list and have the items requested replaces as items necessary.
**** Any item with a safety concern should be addressed immediately with the Troop Quartermaster, Patrol Leader, or the Adult Scoutmaster for the Quartermaster. This is the responsibility of all scouts.
