Troop 80 Policies and Procedures

  This handout outlines the troop history, traditions, policies and all other information relevant to the operation of the troop.

 

Troop 80 Camp Out Survival Incentive Program

This program is designed to highlight special events that have truly stretched the participant in areas of learning survival, wilderness survival, and physical survival involving a minimum of two nights in the setting, camping out under the stars using personal tent, gear and skills.

*One set of beads worn (turn in maroon to receive silver, silver to receive gold).

Beads will be issued two at a time (bead set represents each of the overnight categories listed above) and will be worn on the belt, Scout's right side.  The leather display will be provided by Troop 80, stamped, stained and ready to assemble.  Available to all Scouts, all ages, this program summarizes the Scout's Troop 80 history.

 

Each Patrol Quartermaster is responsible for the preparation and condition of the equipment for the patrol used on each campout.  He is expected to communicate with the Troop Quartermaster, Patrol Leader, and Patrol Grubmaster when updating and improving the gear used by the patrol.  Preparation is important to the patrol’s ability to have a safe and fun campout.  For a complete list of duties and check lists, please use the following links:

 
This Camping Manual was prepared by Bob Dill as one of his Ticket items for Wood Badge 58. This manual is 49 pages long and full of useful information. It covers a variety of topics such as duty rosters, menu sheets, shopping lists, kitchen accessories and other items, equipment lists, patrol box list, breakfast menus, trail meals, one pot dinners, Philmont trail meals, Dutch oven meals, foil pack meals, camp bread recipes, drink recipes, desert recipes, chili recipes and other useful information.
